Enrichment
At Brindley, we prioritise the holistic development of every child. Children should have time in school to develop passions with their peers, play and develop their social skills.
At Brindley and Foley, we have worked on an exciting enrichment offer. For the remainder of 2024-2025, we offer enhanced enrichment opportunities for our pupils on a Friday afternoon. This is in addition to their 32.5 school week entitlement. These sessions offer pupils a meaningful opportunity to complete homework and consolidate learning, as well as the opportunity to enjoy an area of interest.
The majority of children remain in school for enrichment on Fridays, supporting working parents. Our children's survey showed that the children have enjoyed their enrichment opportunities.
What is on offer?
At Foley, our EYFS children will continue to access the rich provision on Friday afternoons, making the most of the resources, including dressing up, to focus on children’s creative and social development.
In KS1, the children will continue to be able to access games and sports, as well as art. As part of their afternoon, children will be able to access their online homework to practise their spellings and early maths skills too.
At Brindley, children will be asked to put down their preferences for the following options:
- Art (Miss Hammond & Mrs Smart)
- Sport (Mr Postings)
- Dance (Miss Harvoutt)
- DT (Miss Price)
- Creative Writing (Mrs Evans)
